Discovering BRADD presented graphic design posters created by Western Kentucky University students for civic and cultural events across the Barren River Area Development District, a ten-county region in Kentucky. The exhibition examined design as a tool for community visibility, public communication, and cultural participation, highlighting how visual language shapes engagement with local institutions and events.
Installed in SKyPAC’s Educational Gallery, the show emphasized typography, composition, and visual hierarchy while demonstrating how informational design can remain emotionally and aesthetically compelling. The exhibition was accompanied by guided educational activities for visiting students, positioning the gallery as an active learning space and framing graphic design as both a creative and civic practice.
